A recent PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) graduate, completing his Go PRO internship program at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre to qualify as a new PADI Instructor, conquers Mount Kinabalu!

Abdullah from Libya wanted to explore more than the underwater world of Sabah, but also the other attractions that make Sabah a world-famous paradise!

Climbing Mount Kinabalu is no easy feat, and Abdullah took his conquering a little further by wearing shorts during his climb! We anticipate he had a pair of shorts underneath windproof trousers though, as our Sabah Travel Centre consultant Alice (also his Go PRO advisor, and has experienced the arduous climb herself a few times) suggested for Abdullah to prepare for the different temperatures.

It is noticeably hotter when completing the Lows Peak via Ferrata, which he finished after reaching Low’s Peak at 4,095 metres. Walking from Laban Rata Plateau (starting at 2AM) is taxing for anyone because it’s so cold, but after witnessing the stunning sunrise light up the plains of the Crocker Range, it gradually gets warmer and warmer!

Alice made sure that Abdullah understood what an amazing achievement it would be to descend the Guinness World Record for the highest via Ferrata, at which point our Kota Kinabalu Dive Shop Supervisor Karen advised on the best GoPro product – the Hero4 Silver edition!

Our operations cater to many conveniences for our visitors to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, by creating the perfect bespoke holiday package they will not soon forget!
